Maiden Voyage

I finally shot 3 rolls of film through the new camera and am thrilled with the results. I need to work on my composition and setup more however I was concentrating more on the process of taking exposure readings, shooting and then developing. The new Epson V700 scanner is amazing!

It works. I haven't forgot from the old school days (some XX years ago). I love the medium format and the analog crafting that goes into it. A nice departure from my digital immersion in everything else.

A few samples of my reluctant subject: More images after the break.

Back to Reality 4,000 Miles Later.

Yep. 4000 miles in a week. That new tire I put before the trip, let's just say it will need replacing on a couple months. I love, or I should say my bike loves Michelen Pilot Powers, but they do not last. Hot pavement, loaded bike and gale-force sidewinds across most of South Dakota and Iowa take their toll.

I went through Sturgis as the craziness was descending upon the area. Hundreds of bikers and trailer queens on their way. Manufacturers ringing all their goodies for this annual party.

The trip was fantastic, tiring but chocked-full of memories. Thanks Dad.

Yellowstone N.P. and Beartooth Pass

Stopped for a rest between Quake Lake and Hepgen Lake on the way to West Yellowstone.

On the top of the world and in the clouds going over Beartooth Pass at 10,979 ft. (workmates, that's about 10,300 feet higher than our offices. lol).

After Glacier we headed through FLathead Lake area and over to Missoula.

Off to Glacier N.P.

We headed over towards Butte and caught the Highway 1 loop through Anaconda and then went up the eastern side to Kalispell. Spending the night in Kalispell and fortunately, avoiding a drenching that went on all night.

Visit Parents, See Glacier & Yellowstone and Destroy New Tires. Priceless.

Yep. I leave Chicago at 8:00 AM on Saturday and arrive in Billings Sunday morning. 20:40 later. Can you say "Iron Butt "?

This picture does not begin to capture the magnificant night sky. If you notice, my GPS says I was stopped for 2 hours and 53 minutes of my ride. I had to stop outside of Boyes Montana at about 2:30 in the morning and grab a couple hours of sleep. I came across a pull off and utilized one of the picnic tables to sleep on. My leather jacket made a nice pad to sleep on and my Roadcrafter suit made a nice "tent" to sleep in.

Off the bike finally.

Olbermann: Go to Iraq and fight, Mr. President - MSNBC

Go Keith!

Although there is now way I would vote for Hillary, Bush's false pretense (and outright lying) for going to war and the subsequent mismanagement and short-sidedness is enough for me to have him impeached and removed from office.

Can the Senate be impeached too for complete idiocy and inaction?

New Baby on the Way

Mamiya RZ67 II

I have been dreaming of a medium format camera for a very long time and I made that dream come true today. I picked up a demo Mamiya RZ67 Pro II medium format camera today and should arrive next week. It takes a 6cm X 7cm image and has the circuitry to handle a digital back (donations being excepted for that).

Louisville Part Deux

Austin's BMX team AED, An Emperical Design, not to be confused with ADD, had their annual trip to Louisville for 24 hours of riding nirvana. Louisville has a great 24-hour park made for riding.
