Topic “Motorcycles”
It’s in our Blood
Motorcycles that is. Congratulations on the new "horse" Dad.
You still have time to make it down to Sturgis. :-)

I Found Parking!
The manager of RoM coffee shop told me about this place a couple of weeks ago, Field Harbor Parking. It’s awesome. Kirk, the owner/manager, offers motorcycle parking spaces at a reduced rate from cars at $50.00 per month. This makes it a no brainer to commute on the bike. It’s much more fun too. They also have car parking for $175 a month. In each case you have a designated parking spot only used by you. Fr comparison, the building I work in is $260 - $375 per month depending if you want designated parking or not. No discount for motorcycle parking.
Despite traffic I will shave a half hour each way on my commute - that’s priceless. The added bonus is being able to ride everyday, providing a great decompression from the workday.
Make a Donation!
Yeah, that's right. After my track day last Monday I have the bug to go racing. First however I need to go back to school, hence the donation button. So if you have some cash laying around, I have a place for it.
Track Day Was a Blast
I finally went on my first track day event today and got to learn a little more about how my Blackbird behaves - it definitely performs beyond my abilities.
Sponsored by Motoworks of Chicago, Johnny worked with his friends at SportBike Track Time to put on this event. Limited to 45 riders (about half of a normal event) allowed for plenty of track time and closer interaction with instructors. The event was held at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan.
Baggage. Lot’s of it.
A place to put some groceries.
I finally got around to adding some hard cases to my bike this weekend. Hanging on the sides are a piar of GIVI E41 cases on SW-Motech removable racks -- good for track days since all that stays on the bike are four small brackets on each side. Very sturdy. I was worried that the exhaust would be in the way but surprisingly they just clear everything and fit perfectly.
